John Haydon is known worldwide for his work, as a passionate advocate for non-profits.

He works hard to help them reach the right people, with the correct message, over at InboundZombie.com and JohnHaydon.com. He’s also the author of Facebook Marketing For Dummies and one of the nicest guys I know.

John Haydon Singer, songwriter and musician

What some people don’t know about John, is that he’s an extremely talented singer songwriter and musician!

Now, I’m not saying John’s good in a, ‘he’s good for a guy that works in non-profit marketing’, kind of way.

I’m saying he’s good in an, ‘I’ve worked with 2 Grammy Award Winners and John is REALLY good’, kind of way.

A little while ago, I listened to every track on John’s music-specific, Facebook page and was blown away. You can listen to what I heard, here. I decided that I would share his work with you, because I genuinely believe more people need to hear this guy.

Today, I found the video below: Used with John’s permission – Check it out!

For some time now, it has been possible to write and publish blog posts from your phone.

Initially, the formatting was non existent. In the case of WordPress, posts were written and published via text message or SMS. So, whilst you could publish posts, they looked like crap.

Today, with a large screen phone and the official WordPress app, you can truly blog on the go.

So, I decided to give it a try! This post has been written, formatted and published from my HTC One X phone.

Currently, there are some frustrating limitations. For instance, although you can add images to your post with ease, there’s no way to format them. There is also no way to add sub headings to your posts.

That said, if you want to update your WordPress blog from your phone, you can do so now – quickly and with most of the core functionality.

This could be extremely useful when blogging a live event, blogging whilst travelling or blogging during your commute on the train or bus.

You can get the WordPress app for Android here.

They really go out of their way, to say that they are trustworthy and that their software or scheme is legit.

I don’t think a legitimate Internet marketer would ever need to say that.

Could you imagine a store owner telling you, the moment you walk into their store, that they are not going to sell you fake goods?

Could you imagine a restaurant owner greeting you as you walk in, with; “Good evening, the food here isn’t out of date!”

No.

Neither could I.

It was just another example, of someone who overuses the word ‘hate’, demonstrating themselves to be a shallow thinking gonk!

Some people have weird ideas, when it comes to saving money.

I remember listening to an accountant, who charged £120 an hour for his time, explain how he wasted 3 hours trying to repair an IT problem at his office. He eventually called in an IT professional, who fixed the problem in 30 minutes for £80.

Similarly, people often buy budget brand computers and end up with slower machines, built on low quality hardware, which need replacing 2 or 3 times as often, as a quality brand. The quality brand may cost twice as much, but if it lasts 3 times longer, you end up paying less and enjoying a more reliable machine.

DIY is fine. Looking for great deals is also a very good idea. We just need to remind ourselves that our time is money and that cheap brands are usually (though not always) cheap for a reason.

If you have a WordPress blog, it’s strongly advised that you update your copy of WordPress as soon as possible.

WordPress 3.3.2 security & maintenance update

This update provides security fixes to three external libraries, which are included within WordPress:

Plupload (version 1.5.4), which WordPress uses for uploading media.

SWFUpload, which WordPress previously used for uploading media, and may still be in use by plugins.

SWFObject, which WordPress previously used to embed Flash content, and may still be in use by plugins and themes.

The WordPress 3.3.2 update also addresses:

Limited privilege escalation where a site administrator could deactivate network-wide plugins when running a WordPress network under particular circumstances.

Cross-site scripting vulnerability when making URLs clickable.

Cross-site scripting vulnerabilities in redirects after posting comments in older browsers, and when filtering URLs.

Automattic, the company behind WordPress, strongly advise that you apply this update as soon as you can. Full details are included here.

This update is available to self hosted WordPress users with the click of a button, via automatic update. As always, remember to back up your data before applying the update to your blog.
